Kingsley Village
in the heart of Cheshire

Works will be offline with the running of the existing roundabout mainly unaffected.

Week 1

Monday 15 February to Friday 19 February

·         Works start on site offices set-up on the grounds of the old Church by Hadfield ST (No traffic disruption)

·         Also, works start on Station Road, east of A559, on the of the existing grassed splitter island.  (There will be a single lane closure on the exit bound lane of the A559 in the vicinity of Station Road only and back to two lane traffic at the existing roundabout itself.  Lanes will be reopened in the evenings).  This will be in order to start on the car parking area to aid parking when work begins in earnest.

·         Some trial holes to be excavated in the Station Road (no through road section) under minimal traffic management.

Week 2

The February litter pick had 11 of our team collected 11 bags of litter.

Thank you to those who pick up litter and help to keep our village tidy. The next litter picks will be on Saturday 5th March and Saturday 2nd April.

A million people give a royal wave goodbye to litter! Friday 4 to Sunday 6th March 2016. As part of the 90th birthday celebrations, the Clean for the Queen campaign aims to make the places where they live more beautiful by removing litter. Can you be part of this campaign by helping in Kingsley

Could you give an hour once a month to help keep our village clean and tidy?

We will start at 10.00 am at the Community Centre.

New helpers are always welcome.

We provide all the equipment needed.

Firstly, many apologies for there not being any Farm Update for some time. It has been a very busy summer, both on and off the farm.

We started harvesting our early potatoes on 6th May this year. This is as early as we have ever started, and surprising because we had such a cold wet spring. After last year’s disastrous potato harvest, when big yields and potato blight caused the price to crash early in the year (and never recovered), we needed a good start this year. The price at our farm shop remained stable for quite a while. The cold spring followed by a dry May delayed potato development. Big yields are no good in early potatoes, because everyone wants small sweet new potatoes.

'Aged between 4 and 18 ?   Have you heard about the Photographic Competition (with prizes) ?

The theme is “Frodsham in Focus” and we would love to see photos of how you see Frodsham and the surrounding areas.   The closing date for entries is Saturday 13th February and all photos will be displayed, and judged, on Saturday 27th as part of Frodsham Singathon.

Check out our website www.frodshamsingathon.co.uk for all the details and an entry form.    Happy snapping.'
