The propsal to amalgamate Kingsley St. John's with Norley C.E Primary School has been dropped and it has been agreed that the two schools will join as part of Federation.

Mrs Griffiths, the Head of Kingsley St. John's, has written the following letter to parents today (19/12/2005):

Dear Parents,

I am delighted to be able to share with you that our proposal for Federation with Norley C.E. School was accepted at the Executive meeting held today at Chester! This enables us to retain our school in the village and to continue to provide the individual level of care and high standards of education which help make our school so special. I would like to thank all the Governors, members of the local community, staff, children and you for all your help and support in enabling us to put forward such a strong case to the Local Authority. Councillors at the Executive meeting thanked everyone for their full participation in the pre-consultation process. The next stage will be to work with the Governing Body at Norley in January on the details and timescale for Federation. We will of course to continue to keep you fully informed of any proposals arising from these meetings.

A letter has today gone out to parents thanking people for their hard work and giving some information on progress so far (snippets appear below):
Federation
"The Governing Body of Kingsley St. John's C.E. (Aided) Primary School is proposing hard federation with Norley C.E. Primary School as an alternative option to amalgamation. The federation would see one Governing Body and one head teacher with both schools having 'Aided' status. In coming to this decision, the Governing Body has considered all information from the Local Authority. On educational and community grounds, we feel that federation is the strongest viable option at this time."

A new page has been added to the web site to give information on Federation.

Meeting to discuss Federation
There is a meeting on Wednesday 30th November 2005 at 7.30pm at Kingsley St. John's where Mrs Alison Penny from the Local Education Authority will talk and answer questions on what Federation is, and what is means to the school.

Thanks from the Governors
"The Governing Body of Kingsley St. John's would like to thank everybody for their hard work on behalf of the school. As a result of a great deal of time and energy on the part of many parents, children, staff, governors, members of the community and others we seem to be nearer to being able to secure the future of Kingsley St. John's CE Primary School for our children to continue to enjoy the benefits of a small rural school in its own community."

Quiz Night
There is a quiz night being held at the Horseshoe pub at 9pm Friday 2nd December 2005

Joint School Stomp!
The Joint School Stomp, as mentioned in a previous news item dated 22nd November 2005 is still going ahead so please give your support:
"Kingsley St. John's, Norley, Alvanley, Manley and Dunham Hill schools are having a 'Joint School Stomp' at:

Delamere Visitors Centre
Saturday 3rd December 2005 1.00 p.m

The press will be there to photograph the children in an SOS formation so please make sure that children are wearing their school colours.

Banners will be provided and car parking will be secured in a nearby field - just follow the signs."
