more details to follow.
15th November 2005 - Local Education Authority
The Local Education Authority are holding a public consultation meeting at:
Frodsham Community Centre between 2.00pm - 7.30pm
Response forms will be handed out at the meeting so that you can record your views (you are NOT limited by the number of questions you may ask!).
Please make sure that any questions you have are recorded.
These forms will also be available on the Cheshire County Council web site,
though they are not yet there (as soon as they are we will post a link here and update the News
page and send out an email through the Listserver).
You are not limited to the list below, but we would like answers to the following types of question:
1. The effect this will have on:
- Village life
- Local business
- Transport
- Education value at Kingsley St. John's
- The Community as a whole
- Will we be able to get access to all questions and reponses that have so far been logged (by all the schools involved)?
- Wouldn't it be better to leave the proposal until after the fallout of Frodsham High School closing (about 18 months - 2 years)?
- Shouldn't you be looking at the OFSTED reports and closing the schools that do not meet the relevant standards, rather than closing high achieving schools?
- Surely the schools that close should be the ones that have a higher percentage of children from outside their areas?
- Kingsley St. John's School should stay in Kingsley because ...
- How can the falling birth rate be used as a reason for this when the birth rate in Vale Royal is actually rising?
- How have the figures for the surplus numbers in 2010 been derived?
- What alternative options have been considered?
- Can we see the plans for the Childrens Centres, and what will be in these centres?
- Why is public money being wasted on planning extensions on the buildings before the public consultation period has ended?
- How much public money has so far been spent on this process?
- Surely Kingsley St. John's is the best site because it has the space to extend without a huge amount of money being spent?
Note: Children are welcome so do not worry about child care
