On behalf of the parents, the school and the action group could I take this opportunity to thank everybody who has helped out in any way with the campaign over the last few months. Your efforts have been very much appreciated.
Mrs Griffiths, the Head of Kingsley St. John's, has written the following letter to parents today (19/12/2005):
Dear Parents,
I am delighted to be able to share with you that our proposal for
Federation with Norley C.E. School was accepted at the Executive meeting
held today at Chester! This enables us to retain our school in the village
and to continue to provide the individual level of care and high standards
of education which help make our school so special. I would like to thank
all the Governors, members of the local community, staff, children and you
for all your help and support in enabling us to put forward such a strong
case to the Local Authority. Councillors at the Executive meeting thanked
everyone for their full participation in the pre-consultation process. The
next stage will be to work with the Governing Body at Norley in January on
the details and timescale for Federation. We will of course to continue to
keep you fully informed of any proposals arising from these meetings.
Mrs Ann Griffiths
Head teacher
Kingsley St. John's
Kingsley St. John's School is a village primary school in the centre of Kingsley, and provides a Christian education for children in the village and surrounding areas. The school caters for boys and girls 4+ to 11 years.Initial Proposals (now dropped in favour of Federation)
The Cheshire Local Education Authority (LEA) have issed a blueprint for how schools in the Frodsham and Helsby area could adapt to meet the demands of the 21st century. As a result of this the LEA are proposing the amalgamation of Kingsley St. John's with Norley Church of England school by September 2007.
It is expected that County Councillors will give permission to consult more widely on these plans by the end of October 2005 so as parents we need to act quickly to make our feelings on this known.
Please see the Meetings page for details of meetings that you can attend for further information, updates and what you can do to help.
