Chester West and Chester - Update 18th January 2010

Despite the continued poor road and footway conditions that were experienced last week, the vast majority of scheduled collections were completed, though in some cases they took place a day or two late.

All collections that are scheduled for this week are expected to take place as normal. However, please be aware that due to the excess volumes of materials being presented, some collections may take place a day late.

Please continue to follow the advice below:-

Place your wheel bins/boxes/bags out on your scheduled collection day as per your collection calendar.

If your road or street is not collected on your scheduled collection day, then please leave your bins out. Due to the increased volumes of waste and recycling being collected, we may be running late and will arrive the next day.

All waste and recycling placed at the side of bins will be collected. However, please ensure that it is contained in bags to prevent spillages.

Garden waste collections have been suspended up until the end of the month to free up vehicle and staffing resources - please therefore do not place your garden waste bin out. Collections will recommence from 1st February.

Your support in advising neighbours, friends and family, that may not have access to this information, would be appreciated.

The vast majority of household collections should be back to normal by 25th January.

Thank you for your continued patience whilst we return the service to it normal operating standards.
