Kingsley Transition initiative (KTI) is about building greater resilience in our community. The nature of the Transition movement is such that it links together ideas and initiatives that grow communities and significantly reduces the impact of some pressing global challenges such as "peak oil" and "climate change". The academic discussions on "peak oil" and "climate change" are often too broad and too dense for practicable application, but what they mean in practice is the cost of living is increasing through higher prices at the pump, higher food prices and higher energy bills. The Government’s Chief Science Adviser, Prof. John Beddington considers these increases to be trending towards a "perfect storm" by 2030. Resilience, adapting to change, seeking a smarter solution through transition can take many forms.
