July 12th 2008 finally arrived. It was Carnival day! Happily it went off without a hitch, although there were some worries about the weather.
We started the day with a team of litter pickers who made sure that the whole field was clean, Keith Sutton had done great work earlier in the week cutting the grass and strimming around the edges. Thanks to Eila and her team for great work before and after the carnival. Thanks also to the stall holders for leaving the field litter free.
The gazebo building team were challenged by the weather. The wind and horizontal rain nearly beat us, but Abelines found some giant stakes which we used to keep the gazebos in place. Then, just as it was time to get ready for the procession, the sun came out...
Kingsley Carnival is happening on July 12th and everything is falling into place for a great day. Luke Bailey (ex Casualty and the Two of Us) is opening the Carnival which should be great fun...
