Public Health photo competition

Amateur photographers of all ages are being offered an exciting opportunity to have their work showcased across West Cheshire.

Cheshire West and Chester Public Health Service is compiling its Public Health Annual Report - and is appealing to local people for help in brightening its pages.

Residents are invited to submit photographs they have taken that illustrate one of five themes:
Connect
Be Active
Take Notice
Keep Learning
Give

As many images as possible will be published in the report - which is titled ‘A Picture Paints a Thousand Words’ – and prizes will be awarded for the top three in each category.

Entries will be judged in two categories: children and young people aged 17 and under; and adults aged 18 and over.

The competition runs until 15 August 2014.

Written by Jennifer van Deursen
Friday, 11 July 2014

Message sent by: Jennifer van Deursen (Office of the Police & Crime Commissioner for Cheshire, PCC Office, Cheshire)

On Monday 11 August, Police & Crime Commissioner for Cheshire John Dwyer is holding a live web chat, inviting members of the public to ask him questions.

The web chat will focus around the Commissioner’s ‘Community Remedy’ consultation, wanting to know your thoughts on ways to deal with low level crimes and anti-social behaviour.

John Dwyer said “I enjoy talking to members of the public, whether that’s face to face, on the phone or through digital media channels. I’m interested to see if anyone wants to elaborate on any thoughts they’ve had regarding suitable punishments for offenders committing low level crime, or whether someone has thought of an alternative punishment which isn’t listed in the consultation.

“Although this web chat is focussing on the Community Remedy Consultation, I would encourage anyone who has a question, no matter what it relates to, to ask me.”

The Commissioner is inviting your questions through Twitter using the #askJohn, via email This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it , Facebook www.facebook.com/cheshirepcc or by calling 01606 364000. You can also ask questions live on the night.

The web chat will run from 6pm till 7pm.

The Community Remedy Consultation is available on www.cheshire-pcc.gov.uk, the closing date is 15 August 2014.
