WW1 Centenary Commemoration

Sunday 11th November 2018

10am Service at St. John’s Church

10.50am Act of Remembrance at The War Memorial

Kingsley Cemetery

11.45am Light Lunch / Refreshments at Kingsley St. John’s Primary School. Donations welcome.

12pm onwards Display of information, photographs and homemade poppies at Kingsley Community Centre.

1pm Performances from Kingsley Young Singers & Kingsley Players Youth Theatre in the Community Centre.

Running time of each performance is approximately 30 minutes. Tickets free, donations welcome.

7.30pm Join the Kingsley Players in a Wartime singalong

in the Red Bull, Kingsley

Please note all donations will go to the British Legion and Help for Heroes

Thank you to the individuals and groups that have been involved in the organisation of the centenary commemoration events, including church groups, Kingsley Players, Kingsley Young Singers, Women’s Institute, Kingsley Parish Council, Kingsley Scouts and Cubs, Guides and Brownies groups. Thanks also go to the Kingsley Community Centre committee, and Kingsley St. John’s Primary School, for donating their facilities for the day.

Thank you also to the local Scouts group for their recent efforts in placing poppies around the village, and to pupils of Kingsley St. John’s Primary School for adding information cards to the display on the Brow.

For all those groups and individuals who would like to contribute to the display to be held in Kingsley Community Centre on the centenary, please be sure to take your items to the post office in the Cooperative Store by Thursday 8th November.
