Please note that the local police station 0845 telephone numbers are not staffed 24 hours a day and that there may be some delay in responding to any messages left.

  1. There have been a small number of incidents in the Christleton area over the past week, such as thefts from vehicles or thefts of pedal cycles, generally overnight. Police are giving the area extra attention but are asking residents to make sure that they do not leave valuables in vehicles, to ensure that all outbuildings are secure and to report any suspicious activity as soon as possible.
  2. On Thursday, a driver in Helsby left their keys in the vehicle whilst they got out momentarily. Whilst they were out of the vehicle, someone jumped in and drove away! On no account should you ever leave your vehicle unattended with the keys in it. Not only will you make it incredibly easy for any potential thief, but your insurance company will NOT pay out in such circumstances. You may also be committing a dangerous motoring offence by leaving your car running with no one in control of it.
  3. Two people were arrested in Lower Kinnerton last Sunday after crashing their car and being found to be drunk! No matter what the time of year or occasion, never get behind the wheel when you are drunk – losing your driving license is likely to be the least of your worries! Please notify the police if you suspect anyone of drink driving.
  4. A works van was broken into in Frodsham overnight on Thursday and numerous works tools were stolen. If possible, please remove all tools overnight. If this is not possible, then please consider fitting some additional security measures to vehicles which routinely hold valuable items.
  5. A burglary has been reported at an address in Sandiway on Friday. Police are following a number of lines of enquiry, but in order to speed up enquiries, are keen to hear from anyone who may have heard or seen anything suspicious, or may have overheard a conversation relating to this or any other offence.
  6. Lastly, an address in Eaton has had a number of ornaments stolen out of the front garden. Due to the nature of this offence, it is possible that they may have been taken by a drunk or younger person as a prank. If you are able to provide any information that will assist in reuniting the ornaments with their owner, please contact the local officer.
